How the calculator works

For a draw of k numbers from n, the chance of matching exactly i of your k is the number of ways to choose i winners from yours and k minus i losers from the rest, divided by all possible draws. A separate pool, like Powerball's red ball, multiplies by its own chance. A bonus ball drawn from the main pool can only match one of the numbers you missed.

With several tickets, the chance of at least one jackpot in one draw is the number of different combinations you hold divided by all combinations. Across many draws it is one minus the chance of missing every time. See the methodology for how these figures are checked.
